Is the implementation of sex education campaign in the Philippine Elementary and Secondary schools a mean to decrease the high rate of early pregnancies to the youngsters?
NEGATIVE:
According to Eric Manalang, head of the conservative political party (The Brotherhood) “Sex education in schools is not the answer to our population problem and poverty.”
Yet, this is fairly a realistic word that Mr. Manalang had been spoken. With these words I am persuaded that the implementation of sex education does no such mania to put off early pregnancy to the youngsters. This is not also a key to poverty that we are facing now. I could visualize that if this proposed program to our education will be implemented I am certain that children will turn out to be inquisitive in playing sex towards their opposite sex and even to the same sexes. Children will indisputably engage premarital sex because they are taught about contraceptives and the measures to evade pregnancy after having sex. What the most horrible thing will take place is that- once it is tasted is always wanted.
If sex education will be approved to be added in the Philippine education curriculum many children desire to play sex even in their young ages. And as a consequence, another contemporary issues and problems might crop up, if not get pregnant it will lead to health problem especially those children who are drawn in with many partners- HIV/AIDS might be the greatest health problem. Even children are taught to avoid this unlawful stuff, still they will be forced themselves to play sex because of curiosity.
The Philippine -as a well-built existing Christian along with the other nations of Asia will mislay its standard as justly Christians if this proposed program will be implemented to the children in schools because it might be a great measure for the children to play sex with their young ages because of the curiosity about sex. A well sex education in schools does not prop up the suitable ideals that will be expected by our children. Teaching sex should be austerely lingered as a family affair and must hang about accountable with this matter towards their children. Every individual must conform the right of the individual to reflect and come to a decision the thing to be done whether it is good or not.
Everyday we are bombarded with different news coming from radios, newspapers, radios and televisions- such as child abuse, rapes or sexual harassment, sex exploited, cybersex pornography and internet addictions due to sex scandal. These major problems are participated in by the Filipino youths because some of them learned or have knowledge about sex which is unlawful for those who are not yet married. In some nations, sex education has been taught. But, some were abusing it. They already have the knowledge on how to prevent from getting pregnant because of the contraceptives. The fact is that they are selling their flesh and made poverty as the reason why they engage these unlawful things. What a shame to our Christian nation! Let us teach our children to be responsible in dealing with this matter. Everything has been done even it has not yet implemented so much more if we will advocate this program to our educational system?
I am deeply being of the same mind that there is no appropriate sex education to all levels of institution. Parents have the great responsibility to thrash out to their children answer to question why children came into this world. If we converse birth control, by the way it is not focus on sex education classes. The children will instead be taught the difference between a boy or a girl, and ways to avoid and protect themselves from sexually transmitted diseases.
And if this will be implemented in schools, the one who will edify must undertake great instruction and specific components on how to teach the anticipated course that the children may be taught deeply about sex education and may not abuse the sex education program. School is exactly the place this ideas should occur in, for it is the state’s conscientiousness to seize a holistic concern in young citizens- to heed about their whole education, not just the three ‘Rs’. The school is to set up young people for adult life- for its tasks, its satisfactions, and its snare. in addition, this tenet on what “can’t be taught” interrupts on the classroom unconstructively. Literature and biology, to name but two, feature sex and the reproductive instinct extensively- the prohibition of sex from teaching damages these subjects, too, unless they continue to be taught properly in which case the rule becomes absurd.
